Misery System was founded in January 2003 by Tobias Mader (God's Creation, Blind Pilots), guitar and Marcel Grassl (Blind Pilots), drums. Shortly afterwards Marco Praschberger (ex-Lacrimas Profundere) joined the band as a second guitarist.
In Mach 2003 Manuel Pertl (C.I.N) bass and Georg Reiter (Sumo), vocalist, completed the line-up.
In the beginning the musical style was pretty much oriented towards "Old School Hardcore", however, changed after some time more towards melodic "Metal Core" and presently can be described as a mixture of "Metal", "Hardcore" and partly "Crossover".
Due to many different influences there is and there never will be a song putting Misery System in a box, but particular songs themselves will crystallize Misery System in their own form and dynamic.
We are confident and look forward to what the future might bring and hope you will share these feelings with us.

Concert highlights:

  • At their first appearance the band achieved fifth place of the Newcomer Festivals 2003 playing for an audience of more than 650 people.

  • Local support of the American hardcore legend "A-18"
  • Achieving semi final of "Emergenza" at Backstage, Munich on April 2004 playing for an audience of more than 800 people.
  • Local support of the American hardcore band "Since by man".
  • Local support of the German legend band "Boxhamsters".
